The broadcast reported that Lula had won an unprecedented fourth term in Brazil’s second round, reversing first-round results and defeating Flavio Bolsonaro, who had not conceded and promised a legal challenge. It said Lula’s campaign used his humble roots, TikTok and his opponent’s links to Donald Trump, while the result prompted the Real to fall and the stock market to suffer its biggest fall in three decades. In Serbia, longtime leader Aleksandar Vučić conceded defeat to a student-led list after snap elections that followed two years of protests against corruption and authoritarian rule. The student list was reported to have won between 135 and 140 seats to Vučić’s 105, with celebrations in Belgrade and some limited disturbances.
